2026 Memorial Day Dogfight Results
 

Thel Pack and Christopher White shot a two-over-par 74 to win the Low Gross division of the 2026 Memorial Day Dogfight. Thel and Chris finished one shot ahead of Michael Whitaker and Terry Peters who shot 75.

The winning difference came on the back nine. Both teams scored 38 on the front, but Thel & Chris had an even-par 36 on the back to Michael & Terry's 37.

Low Net was captured by Michael Whitaker and Terry Peters with a net score of 64 (-8). They beat out Trent Bouts and Brodrick White who finished with a score of 65 (-7).

Andrew Heffernan and Kevin Carlson won a scorecard playoff for third place over Geoff Bloomquist and Connor Parsons. Both teams scored 66 (-6), but Kevin had a net 4 on #10 (the #2 handicap hole) to Geoff and Connor's net 5.

This year's event was played on Monday, May 25 at Woodfin Ridge Golf Course.

The format of the event was Two-Man Teams - One Best Ball Net & Gross. Each player received 90% of their course handicap adjusted for the tee played and the best one-of-two net & gross scores was counted.

The entry fee was $30 per team.

2026 Coon Bone Tournament

The Coon Bone, our annual beach trip tournament, will be played over four days of handicapped competition. Each day there will be a two-man team handicap competition (with everyone having a different partner each day). In addition, there will be an individual Coon Bone Championship competition with the trophy presented to the competitor who has the three best net scores out of four days. Yes, you only have to count three out of four scores! Obviously, if you only play three days, you use your three scores.

Three nights accommodations have been reserved at Avian Forest Condos in Pawleys Island. Each person will have a private bedroom in these 4 bedroom condos!

2026 Independence Day Shootout!
      
One Day Member-Guest or Member-Member

All GGS members are invited to participate in the 2026 Independence Day Shootout. This year's event will be played on Friday, July 3 at Cobbs Glen GC with tee times beginning at 12:15pm.

You may invite one guest or partner with another member. Participants may only play on one team.

The Tournament Committee will gladly help pair up competitive teams. The committee will need a USGA Handicap Index for each guest. If a guest does not have an established handicap the tournament committee will assign one.

HELP US GROW:  Guests who play in this event will be given a special opportunity to join the Greenville Golfing Society. Every Independence Day Shootout guest who joins GGS will have the opportunity to join for $90 (a $20 discount). What a great way to bring a new member into our club!

TIME: Tee times begin at 12:15pm

HOLE IN ONE CLUB
Hole-In-One Club

Sign up for our Hole-In-One Club. If you make a hole-in-one everyone on the signup list will pay you $25, plus the club will sweeten the pot by $100!

  • You must be on the signup list on our website the night before a hole-in-one is made. (The list is automatically recorded on our website every night at midnight).

  • Only official GGS event play qualifies for Hole-In-One payout. No personal play qualifies... only official GGS events or play days.

  • When a member makes a qualifying Hole-In-One the club will make payment of the total pot. Each person on the registration list will be invoiced $25 to reimburse the club.

  • If a member has a credit balance on his account, that balance CAN be used for the HIO club payment.

  • GGS will sweeten the pot by $100 for every HIO payout
